Industry Gas Compressors
for Process & Production
This category covers compressors for eight gas types — oxygen, nitrogen, CO₂, hydrogen, acetylene, natural gas, air, and high-pressure cylinder filling. Each configuration addresses a distinct set of operating conditions, purity requirements, and pressure stages. Use this page to match your gas medium to the correct compressor series before requesting a technical datasheet.
Product Catalogue
Select by Gas Medium
Each compressor series is engineered around the specific density, reactivity, purity sensitivity, and pressure requirements of its target gas. Selecting by gas type first prevents specification mismatches at the procurement stage.
Combustible & Energy Gas Compressors
Natural gas, hydrogen, and acetylene share a common procurement challenge: flammability and explosive risk under pressure require ATEX/IECEx-rated equipment, zero-leakage sealing, and copper-free materials. Specify area classification before selecting.
Inert, Oxidising & Process Gas Compressors
Nitrogen is inert but purity-sensitive; oxygen prohibits any hydrocarbon lubricant contact; CO₂ forms carbonic acid when wet. Each gas type sets a non-negotiable material and lubrication boundary before any other spec is discussed.
High-Pressure Bottling & Utility Air Systems
Cylinder filling compressors and industrial air compressors share an emphasis on continuous-duty reliability, discharge pressure stability, and low lifecycle cost. Key metrics: MTBF, outlet dew point, fill rate per shift, and VFD energy savings.
Why EPG Canada
What Procurement Teams Ask Us Most
Common technical and commercial questions we address before the purchase order stage.
Lead Time Transparency
Standard units ship in 30–45 days from order confirmation. Custom-pressure builds require 60–90 days. We issue a binding production schedule with each order acknowledgement — no estimated delivery ranges.
Certification Documentation
CE, ATEX, PED, and material test reports are prepared as standard. Third-party inspection (SGS, BV) can be coordinated. Hydrogen and oxygen units include compatibility certification for all gas-contact materials.
Total Cost of Ownership
We provide a 5-year maintenance cost estimate with each quotation, covering scheduled consumables, seal replacements, and valve overhaul intervals — so you can compare units on lifecycle cost, not just purchase price.
Performance Guarantees
Flow rate and discharge pressure are guaranteed against factory acceptance test results. If performance deviates more than 3% from spec under agreed inlet conditions, we cover remediation costs without dispute.

How to Specify the Right Compressor
Provide these parameters when contacting us — they determine stage count, sealing type, and material selection, and allow us to produce an accurate quotation in 24–48 hours.
Required Process Data
-
Gas medium and composition: Purity percentage, moisture content, H₂S or contaminant levels if applicable.
-
Inlet pressure and temperature: Suction conditions determine the first-stage design point.
-
Required discharge pressure: In bar gauge or bar absolute; clarify which.
-
Required flow rate: In Nm³/h or SCFM at specified inlet conditions.
-
Duty cycle: Continuous, intermittent, or standby/redundant configuration.
-
Installation environment: Indoor/outdoor, ambient temperature range, altitude, hazardous area classification.
Common Specification Errors to Avoid
-
Confusing Nm³/h with m³/h: Normal cubic metres reference 0°C / 1 atm; specify your actual reference condition.
-
Omitting inlet pressure: A compressor drawing from 0.5 bar absolute requires more stages than one drawing from atmospheric suction.
-
Selecting lubricated type for O₂ or H₂: Hydrocarbon lubricants are incompatible with oxygen (fire risk) and contaminate hydrogen fuel cell streams.
-
Ignoring heat of compression: Multi-stage units require inter-cooling; omitting this inflates power consumption and reduces valve life.
-
No area classification for flammable gases: Acetylene, hydrogen, and natural gas require ATEX/IECEx-rated motors and control panels.
